On Tuesday, 04.06.2024, we, classes 9a and 9b of the Schule am Pulvermaar, went to the Federal Ministry of Defense in Bonn. There we received a 90-minute lecture from Mr. Delzeit, the youth officer. He explained a lot about the history and course of the war in Ukraine and about German security policy. We were also given posters, information booklets and a film about the Bundeswehr. For lunch, we ate pasta with sauce at the Ministry of Defense and then went on to the House of History. There we were given a guided tour of the building. During the tour, we were told a lot about the post-war period, the GDR and FRG and the Cold War. For example, we were shown many differences between the FRG and the GDR. After the 90-minute tour of the Haus der Geschichte, we were allowed to explore the building a little more on our own. At 3:45 pm we headed back to Gillenfeld, where we arrived at 5:15 pm.
