Class 1b: Gardening and more!
Over the past few weeks, the meerkat class 1b has been working hard in the school garden. The pupils have prepared and planted their raised bed with great enthusiasm and teamwork. Tomatoes, strawberries and potatoes were planted - everyone is already looking forward to the harvest! In addition to the raised bed, sunflowers were also sown, which will hopefully soon grow tall and beautify the garden. A special highlight was the visit to the sheep shearing. The children were allowed to watch a sheep being sheared and learned a lot about working with animals. They then created fact sheets about the so-called "fox sheep" - with lots of exciting information about this special breed of sheep. The topic of animal welfare was also covered in class. The first graders learned how important it is to protect animals and how to help toads during their migration. They not only worked in the garden, but also raised awareness of nature and the environment. The meerkat class can look back on eventful and instructive days - with lots of fun, new insights and a growing understanding of nature.
